Antonio’s in the United States offers varying surf conditions throughout the year, with the best months clearly standing out for consistent swell and favorable winds. From January through March and again from October to December, the spot sees the highest percentage of ground and wind swells, minimal no-swell days, and relatively decent wind conditions despite prevailing onshore winds. January and December are particularly strong, with 31% ground swell, 55-57% wind swell, and only 12-14% no-swell days, coupled with mean swell sizes around 0.9m. While wind conditions are generally challenging (bad winds 65-72%), these months still provide the most reliable waves. October stands out slightly with 35% good wind days—the highest of the year—making it one of the better-balanced months. The mid-year period (May to August) is significantly weaker, with swell dropping sharply (0.4-0.6m) and wind conditions deteriorating (bad winds 78-93%). September marks the transition back to better surf, but the best time for quality waves remains late fall through early spring, when swell energy peaks and wind chances improve marginally. For surfers prioritizing consistency and size, the winter months (Nov-Feb) are ideal, though October offers a sweet spot with slightly cleaner conditions.
