Flagler Beach offers relatively consistent surf conditions year-round, though the best months for surfing are typically September through December. During this period, ground swell frequency increases, peaking in September (17%) and remaining decent through December (10%). Wind swells are most dominant in November (58%) and October (55%), providing more rideable waves, while the chances of no swell drop significantly compared to summer months. Swell size averages around 0.7-0.8m, which is more favorable for intermediate to advanced surfers. The wind conditions, however, remain challenging, with bad winds occurring over 80% of the time in most months. Winter months (December-February) see slightly better wind conditions (19-20% good winds), though still not ideal. The summer months (June-August) are the least consistent, with higher probabilities of no swell (up to 66% in July) and smaller waves (0.4-0.5m). Overall, late fall and early winter (September-December) provide the best balance of swell size and frequency, despite persistently tricky winds. Surfers should target this window for the most reliable waves, though patience is necessary due to frequent onshore winds.
