La Santa Izquierda in Spain is best known for its consistent ground swells and powerful left-hand reef break, making it a favorite among experienced surfers. The ideal months for surfing here are from November through March, when ground swells dominate, averaging 1.9–2.0 meters with minimal wind interference. These months offer the highest percentage of clean, well-formed waves, as ground swells account for over 75% of the swell activity, peaking in February at 85%. However, wind conditions are less favorable during this period, with only about 29–37% of days having good offshore winds. The worst months for surfing are June through August, when wind swells dominate (up to 97% in July), resulting in smaller, choppier waves averaging around 1.4–1.7 meters. While summer (July–August) sees the best wind conditions (50–53% good days), the lack of quality ground swells makes it less appealing for advanced surfers. Shoulder months like April and October provide a balance, with decent ground swell contributions (62–65%) and manageable wind conditions (39–42% good days). For surfers prioritizing wave quality over wind, winter is the prime season; those willing to compromise on swell size but favoring cleaner winds might find late summer or early autumn more suitable.
