Los Frailes in Mexico offers surfable conditions year-round, with variations in swell consistency, wind quality, and wave size. The best months for surfing here are generally April, May, and November when ground swells dominate (98%, 98%, and 85% respectively), wind conditions are more favorable (59%, 52%, and 60% good wind days), and swell size is decent (0.8m, 0.9m, and 0.8m). April stands out as the peak month with near-perfect ground swell prevalence and the highest percentage of good wind days. May follows closely with slightly larger waves but marginally worse wind conditions. November is another strong contender with solid swell consistency and the joint-best wind conditions of the year. Outside these months, March and October also provide reasonable conditions, though with smaller waves or less favorable winds. The summer months (June-September) see larger swells but suffer from higher onshore wind interference, making sessions less reliable. Winter months (December-February) have weaker swells and more bad wind days, reducing quality. For consistent, clean waves with minimal wind disruption, mid-spring (April-May) and late autumn (November) are the optimal windows at Los Frailes.
