Palmarcito, El Salvador, offers consistent surf year-round, with ground swells dominating the wave energy in every month, rarely dipping below 92% prevalence. The best conditions typically occur between March and September when mean swell sizes peak, averaging 1.1m to 1.5m, providing more powerful and rideable waves. Late-season months like November also show solid swell consistency, though slightly smaller (1.1m). Wind conditions are less favorable overall, with "bad" winds (onshore or cross-shore) occurring more than 50% of the time in most months. However, the least unfavorable winds arrive in November (49% good winds) and February-March (47%), making these months slightly better in terms of wind quality despite marginally smaller swells. The biggest swells are seen from May to September (1.4m-1.5m), but the trade-off is higher chances of poor winds (59-61% bad conditions). Early-season months like January and December have smaller swells (0.9m-1.0m) and persistently challenging winds. For the best balance of swell size and wind reliability, mid-season (March-April) and late-season (October-November) sessions are optimal—expect solid ground swell energy (1.1m-1.4m) with wind conditions that, while not perfect, are slightly more manageable than the summer months.
