Playa Jobos in the United States offers surfable waves year-round, but the best conditions typically occur between December and March when ground swell contributions are higher (around 29-32%), swell size averages 1.4-1.5m, and wind conditions, though not ideal, are workable with good wind days around 39-43%. The winter months bring a better mix of ground swells, which are more powerful and consistent compared to the predominant wind swells dominating the rest of the year. From April onwards, wind swells take over, peaking in June and July with almost no ground swell, smaller waves (0.9-1.0m), and lighter conditions. However, trade winds become more favorable from May to October, with the best wind conditions in September and October (62-63% good wind days). Though wave quality drops in summer, these months can still be decent for lighter, wind-assisted sessions. Overall, advanced surfers will prefer the winter season for larger, cleaner waves, while beginners or those favoring lighter winds might find late spring to early autumn more suitable despite the smaller swell size and higher wind swell influence.
