Right Point in Canada offers varying surf conditions throughout the year, with the best months typically providing a balance of solid ground swell and favorable winds. Winter months like January, February, and December bring decent ground swell (24-35%) but suffer from inconsistent wind conditions (50-61% bad winds). The swell size averages around 1.5-1.6m, making it surfable, though wind interference can be hit or miss. Spring (April-May) sees a drop in ground swell (5-22%) with dominant wind swell, but May starts to bring better wind conditions (57% good winds). Summer (June-August) has very little ground swell (3-15%) and mostly wind-driven waves, though July and August offer the most reliable offshore winds (64-70% good winds), albeit with smaller waves (0.9-1.1m). The standout season is fall, particularly September, when ground swell rebounds to 38%, wind conditions balance at 50%, and swell size increases to 1.2m. October still provides decent surf with 28% ground swell, but winds deteriorate (60% bad). Overall, September is the best month, combining decent swell, manageable winds, and improved wave quality, while July and August are the most consistent for lighter, wind-friendly sessions. Winter can deliver powerful waves but is less reliable due to onshore wind risks. For surfers seeking a mix of size and favorable conditions, late summer through early fall (August-September) is the prime window.
