Seinesodden, Norway, offers limited but consistent surf opportunities, primarily during the winter months when swell activity peaks. The best conditions occur from November to February, when ground and wind swells combine most frequently, though wind conditions remain challenging year-round. During these months, the mean swell size ranges between 0.6m and 0.7m, with ground swell making up 8-14% of conditions and wind swell contributing 36-40%. However, good wind conditions are rare (only 3% of days), with offshore or light winds seldom occurring. The majority of days (97%) feature onshore or strong winds, which degrade wave quality. From March to October, swell activity drops significantly, with April through September being particularly weak—mean swell size falls to 0.3-0.5m, and no-swell days dominate (56-86% of the time). Summer (June-August) is the least favorable, with minimal swell (1-2% ground, 13-18% wind swell) and near-constant poor winds (99%). If surfing Seinesodden, target late autumn to early winter when swells are more reliable, but be prepared for frequent onshore winds. Wave quality is rarely pristine, making it a spot suited for committed surfers willing to chase small, wind-affected swells in cold conditions.
