Two Ways seasonal overview

Two Ways in the Maldives offers a consistent year-round swell, but the best conditions for surfers typically occur between February and April. During these months, ground swell dominates (71-78%), providing clean, powerful waves with an average size of 1.1-1.3m, ideal for intermediate to advanced surfers. Wind conditions are also favorable, with good winds occurring 63-64% of the time in February and March, reducing cross-shore interference and improving wave quality. From May through October, swell size increases (1.6-1.9m), but conditions deteriorate due to high onshore wind probabilities (76-83% bad winds), making sessions choppy and less predictable. November to January sees a return of more manageable conditions, with December offering a decent balance of swell (1.2m) and improved wind likelihoods (53% good winds). For the most reliable surf, target the early-year window when ground swells peak and winds align favorably. Avoid the monsoon-influenced mid-year period unless seeking heavier, wind-affected waves.
