SW remains the dominant swell direction at 28.4%, WSW adds 15.9%, W 3.5% and SSW 4.8%, keeping a high percentage of wave energy in the preferred window. Size is still solid: the 1.5-2.5m (5-8ft) range is the core of the distribution, and some XXL sets above 2.5m (8ft+) continue to roll through. Wind-wise, the westerly pattern is starting to ease but is still prominent, with W (12.1%), WSW (11.9%), WNW (11.0%) and SW (9.1%) all common. Ideal NE offshore conditions sit at 18%, so you still need to pick the right days. Water temperature is at its yearly minimum near 17.5°C, air temp averages 14.4°C, and precipitation is 2.52mm/day. September offers some of the most powerful, organized swells of the season, often with slightly less storm wind than midwinter.
