Best Surf Season (February - May)

Stent Road is a west-facing slab that lives for a solid chunk of west in the swell, and the late summer to autumn window delivers exactly that. As the Tasman Sea warms and the first autumn lows push through, we see a reliable run of WSW and W swells in the 6-8ft (1.8-2.4m) range with periods holding around 12 seconds. At the same time, the subtropical high drifts northeast, opening the door for a higher percentage of offshore east to southeast winds. February through May offers the best blend of size, period, and clean conditions - the ocean is still holding winter warmth, and the wind machine is less aggressive than in spring.
