Swell is overwhelmingly from the NNW - 91 per cent of the directional spectrum - with most energy in the 2-3ft (0.5-1m) class and a few bigger 3-5ft (1-1.5m) sets from the Pacific fetch. The average period of 7.8s means the surf is punchy rather than powerful, but that is enough to keep the bank rippable when the wind cooperates. Daytime air temperatures average 26.5°C (79.7°F), water temperature sits at 26.1°C (79°F), and rain is minimal at 0.56mm/day - one of the driest, brightest months of the year.
