Best Surf Season (September - November)

Stimpy's is a classic monsoon-driven, east-facing setup, and the best surf arrives during the transition from the southwest to the northeast monsoon. From September through November, average wave heights climb from 0.8m (2.6ft) to 1.3m (4.3ft), while wave periods remain in the 9.5-10.2s range - the kind of long-period energy that makes this beach stand up. Offshore winds from the SSW-W quadrant blow a valuable 35-53% of the time during September and October, meaning clean, lined-up peaks with real push. October is the standout month: 1.1m (3.6ft) average swell, 10.2s period, and the best balance between solid size and workable wind.

Fair Surf Season (April - August)

As the northeast monsoon fades, April marks the beginning of smaller but cleaner conditions. Wave heights average 1.1m (3.6ft) in April and drop to 0.7m (2.3ft) by mid-summer. The trade winds weaken, and the thermal and monsoon-driven offshore flow from the SSW-SW-W quadrant becomes more common, with ideal wind percentages rising from 4% in April to 55% in August. The NE/ENE swell direction still dominates, but most of that energy sits in the 0.5-1m (1.6-3.3ft) groveling range. Expect fun, rippable, soft days when the swell fills in - a longboard or twin-fin will be your best friend.

Low Surf Season (December - March)

The northern hemisphere winter cranks up the North Pacific storm track and the northeast monsoon. Average swell heights jump to 1.6-1.7m (5.2-5.6ft) with periods of 9.4-9.5s, and the NE/ENE direction is heavily dominant - ideal raw material for Stimpy's exposed sandbanks. However, the same monsoon pumps a relentless NE-ENE onshore flow, with ideal offshore wind sitting at just 1-4% of the time. The result is powerful but messy, wind-blown surf. The rare early-morning glass-off or a southwesterly prefrontal wind shift is the key to scoring the biggest, most hollow waves of the year.
