Agadir seasonal overview

Agadir, Morocco, benefits from consistent surf conditions year-round, but the best months for surfers are typically from October to March when ground swell dominates and wind conditions are more favorable. During this period, ground swell percentages are high (72–93%), ensuring powerful, clean waves with mean swell sizes ranging from 1.6m to 2.0m. November to February stands out as the peak season, with January and December offering the most reliable mix of strong ground swells (89–93%) and good wind conditions (52%). Winter months also bring larger waves, averaging 1.9–2.0m, making them ideal for intermediate to advanced surfers. Outside this window, conditions deteriorate as wind swells take over from April to September, peaking in June–August when ground swells drop below 20%. These summer months see smaller waves (1.4–1.7m) and predominantly onshore winds, with bad wind conditions exceeding 70%. While still surfable, summer waves are shorter, weaker, and less consistent, better suited for beginners or longboarders. For the best balance of swell power, consistency, and favorable winds, target late autumn to early spring, particularly November through February.
