Low Surf Season (May - August)

The heart of the southwest monsoon, from May to August, brings the smallest surf of the year. Wave heights frequently drop below 0.5m, and periods are short. The wind regime is dominated by southerly and southwesterly flows, which are often onshore for this WNW-facing break. While occasional typhoon swells can deliver epic, heavy waves (periods 15+ seconds), these events are rare and unpredictable. For consistent, quality surf, it's best to look elsewhere during these months.

June: Southwest Swell Season Arrives with Favorable Offshore Winds

June sees a notable shift as southwest swell dominates, with an average wave height of 1.0m and period of 6.8 seconds. Swell from the southwest (46.0%), west-southwest (19.2%), and south-southwest (11.1%) provides the best wave direction for Badoc Point. The wind ideal percentage jumps to 46%, with strong south (22.1%) and south-southwest (20.4%) winds creating clean, offshore conditions. While the period is still short, the improved wind alignment makes for punchy, rideable waves more frequently than earlier months.
