Swell heights average between 1.0 and 1.2m with periods often exceeding 12 seconds, delivering punchy, rideable waves that hold their shape from dawn to dusk. This is the most consistent window for clean, offshore conditions, where the combination of long-period S/SSW groundswell and light N winds produces glassy sessions with minimal chop.

Fair Surf Season (April & October)

Transition months bring a shift in the balance. April sees a ramp-up in swell height to 1.2m and a peak in period at 14.1s, but the offshore wind reliability drops to around 53%. October follows a similar pattern: solid 1.3m swell from the S/SSW corridor, yet the wind window is narrower, favoring morning offshore breezes that often give way to thermal onshore flow. SSW (63.4%) and S (22.7%) dominate the swell direction, with most waves in the 0.5-1.5m range – fun to good by local standards. The persistent offshore winds groom every ripple into lined-up, punchy sets. It may not be the biggest month, but the consistency and quality of the clean conditions make it a favorite for longboarders and shortboarders alike.
