The swell direction is heavily dominated by NW (26.3%) and WNW (18.5%), both optimal for Monte Cierigo's NW exposure. Combined, these two quadrants account for nearly 45% of all swell energy, with a significant portion in the 2-2.5m range. The wind is ideal 30% of the time, with offshore directions (W, WSW, SW, SSW) totaling around 16% of all wind observations. However, the northerly winds (N, NNE, NE) are persistent at 35%, often creating onshore conditions when combined with the dominant NW swell.
