Average wave heights range from 1.9m to 2.5m, with periods averaging 11.5 to 13.1 seconds, ensuring primarily pumping to firing conditions. The wind pattern is most favorable, blowing offshore from the north and northeast 34 to 46 percent of the time, creating clean, hollow waves. This is the prime window for experienced surfers to score world-class waves.

Fair Surf Season (April & September)

These transitional months offer a mix of leftover winter energy and early autumn pulses. Average swell heights sit around 1.9m (April) and 1.5m (September), with periods dropping to 10-11 seconds on average. While the swell is still fun and rippable, the wind becomes less consistent, blowing offshore only 21 to 22 percent of the time. Expect more crowded lineups and a higher chance of onshore northwesterly winds, but when a clean window opens, the waves remain solid and punchy.

Low Surf Season (May - August)

The summer months bring a dramatic drop in both swell size and quality. Average heights hover around 1.4m with periods between 8.4 and 10 seconds, resulting in mostly small, groveling waves. The dominant swell is short-period windswell from the northwest, often accompanied by strong north to northwesterly winds that are predominantly onshore or cross-shore.
