February mirrors January with a 0.9m average swell and 6.2s period, but ideal wind ticks up to 40%. Swell direction remains locked from the east (44.7%) and east-southeast (42.4%), offering no direct north swell. Wind patterns still favor east-northeast (19.3%) and east (36.0%), but there is a slight increase in lighter southeast and south components. When the breeze clocks around to the south-southwest, the offshore effect can smooth out the lumpy east swell, making the groveling more enjoyable. However, these cleanups are short-lived, and the month is characterized by a struggle between persistent onshore flow and occasional high-pressure breaks that allow the ocean to glass off. The average surfer will find enough 0.5-1m waves for a slide, but quality remains inconsistent.
