September: Cleanest of the Year

September offers the highest percentage of ideal surf conditions at Pirates Cove, with offshore winds 63% of the time. The southwest monsoon is still active, but the swell begins to pick up slightly, averaging 0.8m with a 10.1s period – the longest average period of the summer months. Swell direction shifts noticeably: NE and ENE combine for 66% of the total, as the early autumn storms start to send groundswell toward the Philippines. While wave heights are still modest (mostly waist to chest), the longer period makes them more powerful and lined up. Clear skies, light offshore breezes, and consistent swell make September a true hidden gem for savvy surfers.
