The Radisson in the United States offers variable surf conditions throughout the year, with certain months standing out as more favorable for surfers. The best swells typically occur between September and December, when ground swell percentages increase, particularly in September (19%) and October (15%). These months also see moderate wind swell contributions (41-58%) and a relatively low percentage of no-swell days (32-40%), creating more consistent wave opportunities. Swell sizes are also at their largest during this period, averaging 0.6-0.8 meters, with October and November offering the biggest waves. In contrast, summer months (June-August) have poor conditions, with minimal ground swell (1-6%), high no-swell frequencies (60-70%), and the smallest waves (0.4-0.5m). Wind conditions are generally unfavorable year-round but slightly less harsh in winter (December-February) and early spring (March), where good wind days reach around 15-17%. However, even the best months have a high percentage of bad wind conditions (83-88%), meaning surfers must often contend with onshore winds. For the most reliable surf, late September through November provides the best combination of swell consistency, size, and slightly less disruptive winds, making it the prime window for experienced surfers at The Radisson.
