Best Surf Season (April - July)

Camacho is a classic South Atlantic set-up, and its most consistent months line up with the autumn and early-winter storm track. From April through July, cold fronts migrating out of the South Pacific and across Argentina regularly ignite S and SSW groundswell, with average wave heights holding in the 5.5-6ft (1.7-1.8m) range and periods climbing to 9.4-9.8s. The wind regime also tilts more offshore: N/NNE breezes blow clean for 31-36% of the time, keeping the SSE-facing sandbars groomed. This is the window to book a trip.

Fair Surf Season (March & August - October)

March offers the first true upgrade of the year as the favored swell window jumps to 46% and periods stretch toward 9s. August through October keeps the average size solid - including September at 6-7ft (2.0m) - but the northeast trade wind strengthens and the ideal wind percentage drops to 20-27%, so surface conditions become more of a lottery. The right frontal passage can still unlock clean, firing Camacho.

Low Surf Season (November - February)

The summer months are the least reliable. The South Atlantic High settles in, periods slip to 8.4-8.6s, and the wave rose fills with ENE/E/ESE windswell rather than true S groundswell. Ideal wind percentages hover in the low 20s to low 30s, but the swell direction is too often from the east to wrap properly into the SSE-facing beach. February is the pick of this stretch, with occasional SE/SSE pulses and lighter mornings still serving up fun, rippable waves.
