It may not deliver world-class perfection on every tide, as consistency is its Achilles' heel, but when the conditions align, this sand-bottom break can serve up fun, rideable peaks for both left and right. The spot really shines with a solid southeast swell pushing in, though southwest swells can also coax out some workable lines—keep an eye on the buoy once the swell ticks past 2 feet (0.6 meters). Tide-wise, the window is generous, handling low, mid, and high stages without much fuss, which makes it an ideal playground for beginners and those looking to refine their skills without the intimidation of a heavy beach break. To truly unlock its potential, line up a north wind to groom the surface and keep the chop at bay; the harbour wall already offers a degree of shelter, and pairing that with clean offshore flow can turn an average day into a pleasantly memorable session. It won't always blow your mind, but Marinaretti rewards patience with a laid-back, accessible wave that's ready when you are.

Best Surf Season (December - February)

Winter is the standout window at Marinaretti. Average swell heights peak around 3ft (0.9-1.0m), average periods climb into the 5.6-5.8s range, and the 'ideal wind' score reaches 28-31%, the best of the year. This is when Bora outbreaks from the N/NE and cold fronts crossing the Mediterranean combine to produce a surprisingly consistent mix of short-period S/SW swell and clean offshore wind. It will never rival an open-ocean point break, but on this south-facing Italian beach, winter is by far the most reliable time to find rideable, punchy surf.
