Best Surf Season (November - March)

The Gulf of Genoa comes alive as autumn gives way to winter. Low pressure systems tracking across the Mediterranean tap into the North Atlantic storm track, and the fetch that develops southwest of Liguria sends the SSW-to-WSW swell that Multedo's south-southwest facing beach needs. A negative NAO phase can help displace the Atlantic jet stream southward, fuelling these Mediterranean lows and keeping the SW swell window open. December and January are the standouts, with average heights reaching 3ft (0.9m) and ideal offshore winds from the N/NE quadrant blowing 49-52% of the time. Even the late-season months of February and March continue to produce ridable, punchy windswell, though average periods are still short and surface quality depends heavily on the wind.
