Best Surf Season (October - March)

Playa Bruja's southwest-facing exposure is a magnet for long-period Pacific groundswell, and the October-to-March window is when the whole setup comes together. As the North Pacific storm track wakes up, frequent extratropical lows send WNW, W, WSW and SW swell rolling toward the Mexican coastline, while the strengthening continental pressure gradient across North America funnels clean, groomed wind through the beach. Average swell heights sit between 0.8m (2.6ft) and 1.1m (3.6ft) with periods anywhere from 12s to 14s, and the percentage of ideal surfing wind windows reaches 40-55%, especially in November, December and January. This is the most consistent, most surfable season at Playa Bruja.
