Nestled along a south-facing shoreline, it sees its cleanest conditions during the summer months, when the swell windows align. From the vantage point of the Don Juan Resort, you’ll have a front-row seat to the action—making it all too easy to paddle out whenever the urge strikes. The wave here is a forgiving, sand-bottom beach break that comes alive on south and southwest swells, handling glassy lines from about 1 foot and up. Lefts and rights are both on offer depending on how the swell wraps in, giving you options even on smaller days. The magic wind is a light to moderate northeast breeze, which smooths out the faces and keeps the lineup tidy. One of Mananget’s strengths is its tidal versatility—it works well at low, mid, and high tide, opening up a wide window for sessions throughout the day. While Mananget is predominantly a beginner’s paradise, with soft, fat shoulders and forgiving takeoffs, the wave can still offer playful, rippable sections for more seasoned surfers when the swell picks up and the wind cooperates. Best Surf Season (October - March)

October through March is the most reliable stretch of surf for Manangat. The northeast monsoon, driven by the Siberian High over mainland Asia, funnels offshore flow through the N, NNE, NE and ENE quadrants and creates the cleanest surface conditions of the year. Average swell heights run from about 2.5ft to 4ft (0.7m to 1.2m), with periods of 7.2 to 8.0s, and ideal offshore wind days occur between 34 and 39 percent of the time. The dominant wave directions are N, NNE and NNW, which is not the perfect angle for a south-west-facing bay, but the combination of consistent energy, clean wind and cooler water makes this the most rewarding stretch of the season. The standout pulses arrive when strong northeasterly monsoonal surges push swell through the Luzon Strait and the direction picks up a bit more northwest or west component.
