Best Surf Season (September - October)
Pencit Reef is a northeast-facing reef break that relies on northeasterly swell generated by the seasonal monsoon machine. The months of September and October offer the best blend of building NE energy and lingering S-SW offshore winds. As the southwest monsoon retreats, wind directions become more variable and lighter, while the first proper north-east swells of the season begin to fill in. September still sees over 50% ideal wind, and October delivers a healthy jump in average swell height to around 1.1m (3.5ft) with 10s+ period - enough to make the reef reel. This is the annual sweet spot for quality waves at Pencit Reef.
