November and December stand out with the highest percentage of ideal wind (61% and 58% respectively), while January through April maintain a solid 40-46% ideal window, despite occasional stronger trade wind pulses. Fair Surf Season (May - August & October)
As the Intertropical Convergence Zone creeps north, the rainy season sets in and the wind patterns become more variable. During May through August, the swell remains excellent—dominated almost entirely by SSW and SW directions with heights averaging 1.4-1.5m and periods of 13-14 seconds. However, the wind is less reliable. Light onshores and variable breezes become more common, though July and August still see ideal wind percentages of 62% and 51% respectively.
