Summer heat turns Bathtub Beach into a classic Florida flat spell. The dominant swell direction shifts to the E and ESE, but these waves barely tickle the sandbar. Onshore easterly winds prevail, with ideal offshore conditions occurring only 12-17% of the time – and even then, the fetch is pitiful. If you're desperate, a passing thunderstorm can briefly flip the wind offshore, but the resulting waves are weak and gutless. This is the time to travel or pick up a different hobby.
