December stands out as the most consistent month, offering the highest swell frequency (62%) and the largest average swell size (0.9m). However, wind conditions are challenging year-round, with bad onshore winds dominating 90%–95% of the time, limiting ideal surf sessions. The worst conditions are found in summer (June–September), where windswell drops below 35%, swell size diminishes to 0.4m–0.5m, and unfavorable winds persist over 95% of the time. While autumn and early winter (October–December) provide slightly better waves, wind quality remains poor, requiring patience for rare clean sessions. Advanced surfers may still score rideable windswell during winter, but overall, Kastro Point is inconsistent and heavily dependent on occasional wind alignments. For the most surfable conditions, target late autumn through early winter, but expect strong onshore winds to be the norm.

The best swells arrive from the SSW, SW, and WSW, where wave heights occasionally reach 1.5-2m, but most waves remain under 1m. Larger but less frequent swells from the WNW and NW can provide better shape, albeit still generally under 2.5m. Wind conditions are rarely ideal—only 9% of the time—with lighter winds from the N to ENE creating cleaner surfaces while stronger onshore winds (SSE to WSW) degrade quality. Expect mostly small, gutless surf with short rideable windows when local wind and swell directions align. Advanced surfers may find occasional waist-high+ days, but beginners will struggle due to weak swells and frequent chop.
