The swell mix is overwhelmingly dominated by low-energy NW and WNW groundswells, often mixing with short-period windswell. The wind pattern is trickier: while the percentage of ideal offshore winds (N, NNE, NE or ENE) ranges from 38-43%, the wind frequently swings around to the SSW, SW, or W, blowing direct onshore and chopping up what little swell exists.
