November marks the return of the monsoon transition, with ideal wind percentages climbing back to 40% as the swell size begins to back off from its winter peak.

Low Surf Season (January, February, August, September, December)

January and February are the heart of the monsoon, with average swell around 1.6m and periods of 12s, but winds blow predominantly from the NW to W sector, often ruining the wave face. The offshore windows are limited to 24-28% of the time. August and September represent the trade wind peak: enormous 2.2m swell with 14s periods, but the almost relentless SE wind (70-80% of the time) keeps the ocean choppy and bumpy. Only the most exposed breaks can handle this. On the rare days when the trades ease or shift to the NE, the reward is heavy, grinding barrels, but those days are few and far between. December is a transitional month with moderate swell and limited offshore windows (29%), making it a hit-or-miss affair.
