Playa Boca Chica in Mexico offers consistent surf conditions year-round, with ground swell dominating almost every month, rarely dropping below 90%. The best time for surfers is during the winter and early spring months—specifically from November to April—when swell consistency is at its peak, and wind conditions are most favorable. November, December, and January stand out with excellent ground swell presence (98-100%), manageable mean swell sizes (0.9-1.1m), and the highest likelihood of good wind conditions (58-63%). February and March also maintain strong ground swell (100%) but with slightly less favorable winds (around 58-60%). Swell size increases gradually from winter into early summer, peaking around June-August (1.4-1.5m), but the trade-off is less reliable wind conditions, with bad winds exceeding 50% from May to September. October marks a transition month, improving wind conditions (58% good winds) while maintaining solid ground swell (95%). Summer months (June-September) see slightly more wind swell interference but still offer surfable waves, though with higher chances of onshore winds. Overall, late fall and winter provide the most balanced conditions—consistent ground swell, cleaner winds, and moderate swell sizes—making them the prime window for surfers at Boca Chica.
