Best Surf Season (October - March)

The heart of the northeast monsoon transforms Stimpy's into a powerful, heavy-wave magnet. From October through March, the North Pacific pumps long-period swell from the NE quadrant directly into this east-northeast-facing beach. Average wave heights surge from 1.1m in October to a peak of 1.7m in January, with periods consistently in the 9.5-10.2s range – solid and punchy. The trade-off is brutal: onshore winds dominate, blowing from the same NE-ENE sector over 85% of the time. Ideal wind windows (SSW-W) are scarce, often dropping to just 1-4% in the deep winter months. Yet, when a high-pressure system slides south and a weak trough brushes the Philippines, offshore westerlies align with a building NE groundswell. Those are the days when Stimpy's truly fires – hollow, 1.5-2.5m plus walls with 10-14s periods. Patrol the charts for those brief synoptic setups.

Fair Surf Season (April - May & September)

During the shoulder months, the northeast monsoon relaxes and the southwest monsoon begins to stir. Swell heights drop to the 0.8-1.1m range, but the quality can actually improve. April and May still see a solid ENE swell component (66.3% and 66.7% respectively) at 1-1.5m, while the wind shifts more southerly. Ideal wind percentages jump to 4% in April and 19% in May – still low, but a noticeable step up from winter. September offers the best compromise of the fair season: average swell 0.8m (often fun-sized 0.5-1.5m from NE and ENE) with a remarkable 53% offshore wind frequency. The wave period creeps back up to 9.5s, giving the small swell extra push. You'll be groveling on a fish or a log, but the conditions will be clean and playful.

Low Surf Season (June - August)

The southwest monsoon dominates the summer months, bringing persistent offshore winds (SSW-W) 30-55% of the time. However, the swell engine is nearly silent. Average wave heights bottom out at 0.7m with periods averaging only 8.4-9.0s – choppy, low, and messy by default. June through August sees the swell direction become more scattered, with ENE and E windswell making up the bulk of the tiny 0.5-1m waves. While the rare tropical depression can spin up a short-period pulse from the south or west, these are directional mismatches for Stimpy's. This is strictly a flat spell, best suited for beginner lessons, longboard cruises, or booking a trip to a more exposed reef. If you absolutely have to surf, dawn patrol with a westerly breeze can produce groomed but micro waves.

October: The Prime Window

Average swell height jumps to 1.1m and the period spikes to 10.2s – the highest of the year. Swell from the NE quadrant dominates: NNE (20.0%), NE (49.1%), and ENE (14.2%) combine for over 83% of the wave energy. This is long-period groundswell, with 1-1.5m waves present 40% of the time and 1.5-2m sets 8%. Wind conditions improve dramatically from summer: offshore (SW-W) at 35%, with a significant west component (11.1%) blowing at moderate strengths. October offers the best overall surf quality at Stimpy's. The northeast monsoon delivers consistent swell, and the southwest monsoon still lingers enough to provide favorable winds. You'll find clean, powerful waves in the 1-2m range with occasional overhead bombs. Dawn patrol is often glassy, and the longer period ensures hollow sections on the steeper faces. This is the month to plan your trip.
