Swell from the S (9.5%), SSE (7.0%), and SSW (7.4%) is prominent, along with significant contributions from WNW/NW (6.9% and 6.6%). Offshore wind dominates at 28% ideal, with the NW/WNW quadrants alone accounting for 28.9% of observations. This combination of solid south swell and persistent offshore flow creates consistently clean, punchy waves. Wave heights frequently sit in the 1-1.5m fun zone, with periods long enough to hold open faces. December rivals January as the top month for surf quality at Sumner Avenue, delivering both size and shape.
