However, the trade-off comes in the form of less reliable offshore winds, with ideal conditions dropping to just 17-18% of the time in mid-winter. Frequent frontal passages bring gusty NW to SW winds, often mixing up the faces. Spring offers a gradual improvement: by October, the wind cleans up (21% ideal) and swell sizes remain solid at 2.2m. September through November provide a good mix of size and occasional windows of perfection, but you'll need to pick your days carefully.

Light offshore breezes from the S to SSE quadrant occur around 17-18% of the time—similar to mid-winter but with much smaller wave heights. The result is a lot of days with fun-sized, groveling waves under 1m. Occasional pulses of 1.5m+ swell can arrive, but the general vibe is relaxed, making this the go-to season for longboarders and those seeking mellow sessions.
