Stuart Public Beach

Stuart Public Beach offers a blend of sand and reef bottom, delivering both left and right-breaking waves with a slight bias toward longer lefts when north swells fill in. The inside section can produce occasional, punchy hollow pockets that keep things interesting. While it may lack the refined form of nearby Stuart Rocks, this setup often shines when its neighbor goes flat, and it consistently runs a few feet larger, making it a reliable backup or a go-to when you need a bigger canvas. Easy access and a spread-out lineup appeal to intermediate surfers looking for a mellow, functional session.

Best Surf Season (November - March)

The western Atlantic storm track wakes up as cold fronts and Nor'easters march off the US East Coast, pointing a deep east-northeast fetch straight at Stuart Public Beach. Average wave heights hold in the 4ft (1.2m) range and periods sit in the 7.7-8.2s pocket - punchy and rideable, with plenty of head-high-plus days mixed in. The waverose is loaded with optimal NNE, NE, ENE and E swells, especially in November and December. Wind is the great qualifier, and December through March posts the highest ideal-offshore percentages of the year (22-26%) after cold fronts clear the coast and west/southwest flow takes over. These are the most reliable months for clean, rippable surf.
