Best Surf Season & Climatology

Best Surf Season (October - March)

The Wall is a winter-focused wave on the US Atlantic seaboard, and the months from October through March deliver the most consistent and powerful surf of the year. As the northern storm track kicks into high gear, long-period WSW and SW swells roll in with impressive size and regularity. Offshore winds from the NE, ENE, E and ESE quadrant blow clean for more than half the month during the core winter, making for crisp, hollow, well-defined peaks. December and January are the absolute apex, with average swells pushing 9-10ft (2.7-3.0m).
