Best Surf Season (October - March)

The winter months bring the North Atlantic storm track to life, generating consistent long-period swells from the N to NE quadrant – exactly what Bozo's NNE exposure is built for. Average heights hover between 1.5 and 1.6m with periods averaging 9.3-9.4s, delivering punchy, rippable waves day after day. While the dominant trade winds often blow from the E-ESE, keeping conditions choppy, the windows of offshore flow from the S-SSW (occurring 21-43% of the time) turn the lineup into a surfer's paradise – glassy, groomed faces that make the most of every incoming pulse.

Fair Surf Season (April & September)

Shoulder months see a transition. April retains a decent mix of NE and NNE swell (over 40% combined), though average heights drop to 1.3m and periods slip to 8.9s. September marks the return of longer-period swell (8.8s) with a growing NE component (26.5% from NE/NNE) as hurricane season stirs the Atlantic. Both months offer improved wind statistics (25% and 46% ideal wind, respectively), but the swell quality is more hit-or-miss compared to the peak season.

Low Surf Season (May - August)

During the summer months, the tropical trade wind regime locks in. Swell is dominated by E and ENE directions (over 75% combined), which are not optimal for this NNE-facing spot, resulting in small, weak, short-period waves averaging 1.1-1.2m and 7.2-8.1s. Constant onshore winds from the E and ESE further degrade wave quality. While the percentage of ideal wind (offshore) actually increases to 31-37% due to lighter overall conditions, the swell direction and size rarely cooperate. Small, groveling waves are the norm, with occasional exceptions from hurricane swell or distant storms.
