This consistent lefthander operates across the tide range and handles a broad spectrum of swell sizes, making it a year-round staple for the region. The setup draws a loyal mix of locals and traveling surfers, many of whom camp nearby, creating a vibrant but often competitive lineup. The wave breaks over a shallow reef and is best fed by a north swell in the 5-to-10-foot range (1.5–3 meters). Cleanest conditions come with southerly winds, and Easkey holds its shape remarkably well in prevailing south-west breezes that would trash most other spots in the area. Paddling is manageable on the shoulders, but the inside is laced with strong rips that can quickly sweep you off position, especially during building swells. Expect a steep, exhilarating drop and a solid cover-up that rewards surfers looking to get barreled or lay down carves. Access is straightforward via the car park near the castle.
