For Conchalio, the best window aligns with the Central American dry season, when high pressure and periodic cold-front surges create a dependable offshore flow from the N, NNE, NE and NNW. This is the time of year with the highest percentage of clean, groomed conditions: ideal wind values reach 53-67%, rainfall drops to nearly zero in December and January, and the water stays a warm 27-29°C. The SSW-facing beach receives a nearly constant diet of S, SSW and SW groundswell at around 1.0-1.2m (3-4ft) with 12-13s periods. It is not the biggest time of year, but the combination of long-period swell and morning offshore wind makes it the most consistent for high-quality surf.
