Colotepec's most consistent combination of size and clean surface conditions comes between July and October. Southern Hemisphere winter storms and Eastern Pacific tropical cyclones feed the beach with SSW/S groundswell averaging 1.5-1.7m (5-5.5ft) at 13-14 second periods, while the wind remains favorable 46-57 percent of the time. This is the period when the SSW-facing sandbars have both the raw power and enough offshore N/NNE/NE/NNW wind windows to deliver truly memorable surf.
