Best Surf Season (December - April)

Playa Santa Catalina hits its stride when the dry season sets up across Panama's Pacific coast. Strong Caribbean trade winds spill through the isthmus and blow offshore at this SSW-facing beach, keeping the surface glassy and the waves organized. Ideal surf wind runs between 62 and 76 percent during these months, while consistent SSW groundswell with 12-14s periods delivers clean, rippable peaks in the 2-3ft (0.5-1m) range. It may not be the biggest swell of the year, but it is by far the most rideable.
