Perched at the northernmost edge of San Isidro, Pacifico is a wild, untamed left-hander that unfurls over a shallow, reef-strewn lagoon. It demands a long, bootie-shod trek across the weedy seabed, but the reward is a wave that stretches deep into the bay and holds its shape on north swells, keeping closeouts to a minimum. This is a spot for confident intermediates who can navigate a shifting lineup and read the fast, hollow walls. It comes alive from a modest 2ft (0.6m) and handles larger swells when conditions align. Northeast is the sweet spot for swell direction, though due north and east can also deliver. You’ll want a crisp southwest wind to groom those long lefts, carving into the open face. The beauty of Pacifico is its all-tide versatility—low, mid, or high, there’s a wave to be had. This isn’t just a surf break; it’s a contest stage, hosting the annual North Siargao Surfing Challenge. Push farther north toward Burgos and Alegria, and the fringing reef continues, offering surfers a string of pristine peaks and empty waves along a coastline that’s begging to be explored.

Best Surf Season (August - October)

Late summer through early fall is when Pacifico truly comes alive. The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) locks in southwesterly to westerly flow across the Philippines, and the wind data reflects this in a dramatic spike in favorable offshore winds-ideal wind time peaks at 31% in August, 34% in September, and 30% in October. This is also the season when the western-quadrant swell window (SW, WSW, W, WNW) makes its strongest showing in the wave rose, despite the average heights still sitting in the fun-size range. More importantly, wave periods begin to stretch out, reaching 10.2s by October, which signals longer-period, more organized energy. When tropical cyclones spin up in the Philippine Sea, they inject powerful pulses of westerly swell into this east-facing coast, and with the wind blowing offshore from the WSW/W quadrant, Pacifico offers its cleanest, most rideable waves of the year.
