September is arguably the cleanest month of the year at Pacifico. The wind data is outstanding: ideal wind time tops out at 34%, and the wind rose is built around WSW (25.6%), W (15.6%), SW (10.8%), and WNW (3.9%), meaning the offshore flow is near-constant. Average swell height is still modest at 0.8m, but the period climbs to 9.5s, and the swell direction mix is much healthier. NE swell still leads (27.1%), but ENE (22.7%) and NNE (11.4%) are joined by meaningful western energy-W (6.0%), WSW (4.4%), WNW (3.5%), SW (3.0%), NW (2.4%). The tropical cyclone season is at its peak, and these western pulses, even if intermittent, are what make this month special. With the wind blowing offshore, even the smaller swell lines hold a clean groomed face-this is longboard and high-performance shortboard territory depending on the pulse.
