Best Surf Season (May - August)

The deep winter months deliver the goods at Clubhouse in terms of raw swell size and period. The Southern Ocean storm machine fires with increasing consistency through this window, pushing the average swell height to 2.2-2.4m (7-8ft) while average periods climb to 12.2-12.5s. Crucially, the offshore wind window - SSW through WSW - becomes more prominent as cold fronts tracking east of the Cape swing the flow to the west. If you can pick off those clean, W/SW offshore days between frontal boundaries, this is when Clubhouse has the most power and shape. The main caveat is direction: the bulk of the energy arrives from the S/SSW/SW sector, which is not the ideal NNE-NE-ENE-E window, so a good portion of this is wrapped or refracted swell. Still, when it lines up, the setup is firing.
