When conditions align, these zones can link up, producing long, connecting walls that make it a worthy alternative when J-Bay is undersized. The setup is consistent and reliable, though surfers should stay alert—the surrounding waters have a reputation for shark activity, so keep your head on a swivel. The best waves roll in on southeast swell, but east and southwest directions also keep the point humming. Expect right-handers peeling over rocky ledges, with a blend of hollow, barrel sections and open-faced carve zones. Intermediate surfers will find plenty of room to grow across a wide range of sizes, from three-foot glass to bigger, more challenging days. The tide window is generous—low, mid, and high all produce, though each section can favor a specific stage. West wind is the ticket, so keep an eye on that forecast to dial in the session. Best Surf Season (May - August)

The heart of winter is when Seal Point turns into a proper big-wave set-up. As the South Atlantic high drifts north and a train of cold fronts and mid-latitude cyclones passes below the continent, the Southern Ocean fires long-period groundswell into the Cape. Average wave heights peak at 10ft (3.1m) with periods around 12.5s, and the percentage of clean W/WNW/NW/NNW offshore wind reaches 31-37 percent. The dominant swell direction is SSW/SW for much of this window, so the electric sessions come when the energy shifts into the SSE/SE quadrant and the westerly wind lays it all out. If you are chasing consistent size and power, this is the season.
