Best Surf Season (October - March)

Gazing along the Northern Spanish coast, Gaztetape is pure winter. From October through March, the North Atlantic storm track powers up, and low-pressure systems marching toward the Bay of Biscay unleash relentless NW and WNW groundswell directly into the beach's NNW-facing pocket. Average swells sit between 1.6m and 2.1m (5-7ft) with periods of 11-13s - real, long-period energy. Critically, south to southwest winds blow offshore in this corridor, and ideal wind frequencies peak at 40-45%. This is the time to score clean, powerful, organized surf.
