The wind shifts predominantly onshore from the E and ENE, blowing directly into the beach's exposure and ruining the wave quality. Even though the frequency of optimal swell from the east through southeast is at its annual peak (exceeding 10% of all swell observations), the persistent onshore flow makes the waves at the spot unruly and choppy. The wind regime is mixed: onshore easterlies are common (ENE 11.4%, E 16.4%), but westerly systems still pass through, giving windows of clean conditions. The east to southeast swell that does arrive is often of solid size (1-2m). November can produce great surf, but it is inconsistent.
