The average swell height sits at a modest 0.7m in October, but the period stretches to 10.2s, bringing powerful, well-organized lines. More importantly, the frequency of offshore winds from the SW-WNW reaches a yearly high of 46%, often combining clean conditions with these slow, peeling waves. November sees a jump in swell size to a fun 1.0m average, with 25% ideal winds—still a solid window where you can find peaky, rideable waves before the onshore trade winds strengthen.

Fair Surf Season (December - March)

The core of the NE monsoon pumps consistent, sizable swell into Cauit Point from December through March. Average heights range from 1.0m to 1.3m with periods in the 9-10s range, offering plenty of punchy, rippable waves. However, the dominant wind pattern shifts to northeasterly directions (NNE, NE, ENE), which are directly onshore for this east-northeast-facing beach. Ideal wind percentages plummet to between 7% and 14%, meaning clean conditions are rare and often short-lived. When the wind does clock around to the west or northwest—usually during a passing cold front—the spot can absolutely fire with hollow, lined-up walls. Patience and a sharp eye on the forecasts are key during these months.

From April through September, the southwest monsoon takes hold, drastically reducing both swell size and consistency.
